Lionel Messi ‘s padel investment

As some of you might have seen, Lionel Messi and Sergio "Kun" Agüero are making waves in the world of padel, having recently invested in the sport and formed a team called KRÜ PADEL.

This team will participate in the upcoming HEXAGON CUP, a prominent tournament set to take place from January 29th to February 2nd 2025, at the Madrid Arena.

The Hexagon Cup, powered by Portico Sports courts, has gained recognition for its unique format, which includes mixed-gender teams and promises an exciting blend of entertainment and sports.

KRÜ PADEL is part of the broader “Krü Esports”, which Agüero launched in 2020 and Messi joined as a co-owner in 2023. This new venture aims to expand their influence beyond esports into the rapidly growing padel scene, which boasts around 35 million active players worldwide.

Agüero expressed enthusiasm about this expansion, emphasising that it offers a new way to connect with fans and showcase their values through sport. The initiative not only showcases their commitment to promoting padel but also aims to contribute to the sport's growth and accessibility.

With their entry into padel, Messi and Agüero are joining a trend where sports stars are increasingly investing in this dynamic racket sport, signalling a bright future for padel on the global stage.
